South East Learning and Skills Awards 2010

The Savill Court Hotel, Windsor Great Park, played host to the South East Learning and Skills awards on Thursday the 20th of May. The glittering ceremony, hosted by Sky News’ Charlotte Hawkins, was a real celebration for all finalists and attendees.

The awards champion excellence in skills and acknowledge the outstanding achievements of learners and employers across the South East. Now in their fourth year, these awards recognise the achievements of individuals at every stage of life and career, and the contributions of organisations - big and small - across every sector.

In each of the individual categories, the judges were looking for evidence of a person’s commitment to learning, their tenacity in overcoming barriers and their ability to inspire those around them.

In explaining the importance of the awards, Executive Director, South, for the Skills Funding Agency, Marinos Paphitis, said: “The individuals and organisations we are looking to acknowledge make an enormous contribution the regional economy and the well being of their local communities. They make the south east a better place for all of us to live and work – and that’s something worth celebrating.”

The deserving Winners and Highly Commended nominees were announced to a packed audience.

Full details of all Winners and Highly Commended are available now.
